Join us in celebrating our beloved language around the time of International Urdu Day!
The Khusrau Circle presents Jashn-e Urdu, a two-part event to bring together people interested in Urdu at all levels of fluency. We’re grateful to be hosting this event at Ruhani Cafe in Brooklyn.
1:30-3 pm: Urdu Social Hour
Hang out, meet people, and practice speaking your Urdu! All levels are welcome, from native speakers to new learners. We’ll also bring plenty of Urdu books in case you want to practice reading (we’re happy to help teach!)
3-4:30 pm: Mushaa’ira and Open Mic
We’ll gather round for recitations of Urdu poetry, whether you want to share your own original work or something by a favorite poet. Each speaker will have 5-7 minutes to take the floor.
Chai and snacks will be available for purchase from Ruhani!
